How To Purchase Cheap Used Treadmills

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

When it comes to purchasing cheap treadmills, there are a few things that you are going to want to keep in mind.  The first is that you are making an incredible decision towards improving your health and lifestyle, but only if you actually use the treadmill once you get it into your house.  The second, is that not all treadmills are created equal.  There are a couple of different price ranges that you are going to have to choose from, and before you go out looking for a new cheap treadmill for your home gym, as well as the type of motor that is located in the treadmill.

For the cheapest priced treadmills, you are going to want to take a look at them in person if at all possible.  The reason for this is because there is a reason that they are cheap.  Either it is because the treadmill is incredibly old, the machine has been used heavily in a gym or fitness center, or it doesn’t have a motor in it and requires you to manually propel it for your exercise.  While the last example is alright, you just have to understand that it doesn’t have a motor in it before you sink your hard earned money onto something you may regret later.

If the machine is incredibly old, you still can’t completely discount it.  Take a look at it to make sure that it looks like it hasn’t been abused too bad, and you will probably be able to make an incredible deal purchasing an older model cheap treadmill.  These motors tend to hold up well over the years, and if the person is trying to sell it while stating that it works, then you are probably going to be able to resell it in a few years when you are ready to upgrade.

Purchasing cheaper treadmills that have been used in gyms and fitness centers is a great way to save a lot of money on your home gym equipment.  The owners of these businesses understand the amount of use that their machines have received over even just the course of a few years, and are simply trying to use the extra money to replace other equipment in their gym.  By earning a few bucks on the sale of the old one, it helps recoup the bottom line when it comes to working over the books for their business.
